Z-Strain is a cultivated strain of Psilocybe cubensis, a well-known hallucinogenic mushroom.
Psilocybe cubensis is found in the wild throughout much of the world. It feeds on and fruits from the feces of mammals in the wild, producing small to medium-sized, light-brown fruiting bodies with a lot of natural diversity. It is the most well-known and possibly most extensively utilized member of a genus of numerous species, all of which are known to produce the hallucinogenic chemical psilocybin. When people refer to “shrooms” or “magic mushrooms,” they are usually referring to one of the Psilocybes, most often Psilocybe cubensis.
Although Psilocybe mushrooms can cause unpleasant—and in rare cases, dangerous—side effects, their use appears to be reasonably safe, at least in the short term. The experience of taking Psilocybes varies greatly, partly because users vary, but also because the concentration of psilocybin varies between species and, in some cases, between mushrooms of the same species.
In any case, Z-strain grows easily, fruits abundantly, and reportedly checks all the boxes—strong visuals, strong body high, everything. Individual mushrooms are typically large and meaty. So how much should you take? The answer is not simple. For one thing, not everybody wants the same kind of experience. Novice users might prefer a light dose, while some experienced users really want to get as high as possible. It’s possible to calculate a rough estimate for Psilocybin cubensis use with the user’s bodyweight, the condition of the mushroom (fresh mushroom doses are much larger than dried because they include a lot of water weight) and what kind of experience the user wants. But since people vary in their sensitivity, and mushrooms vary in their potency (even within a strain, potency varies), such calculations can only be approximate.

This was a great little starter/variety pack. Cambodian Gold is definitely my favorite and I will buy more for sure. I dont take mushrooms to get high or trip just small amounts for elevated mood/energy.

A good opportunity to try different varieties. I took 1g for each session over several weeks and got something from all. While the experienced differed a bit, I didn’t find a lot of variety. If I did it again, I might keep a journal and be more scientific in recording the experience.

I bought the 5 strain sample pack and I tried 1 gram the first time and got nothing so I tried 2 grams the second time and still got nothing. I have 3 grams left and am planning on eating them all at once and if it doesn’t work? Then I guess mushrooms aren’t for me.
